The Gutenberg Academy (GA) supports and promotes researchers in early career phases with career orientation services, workshops for professional and interdisciplinary qualification, financial grants, various networking opportunities as well as access to mentoring and individual advising.

The Gutenberg Academy Fellows Program (GAFP) supports outstanding young talents from the fields of science and the arts.

Under the umbrella of the GA you will find the Network NatLife and the Gutenberg Graduate School of the Humanities and Social Sciences (GSHS), which provide additional subject-specific offers and detailed information for the respective subject groups.

You can also find information on the pages of the Gutenberg Graduate School of the Humanities and Social Sciences (GSHS) and Network NatLife.

The Gutenberg Academy Fellows Program (GAFP) supports selected outstanding talents in science and the arts on their career path: They benefit from networking opportunities, financial grants and a special mentoring program.

Every year, up to 12 doctoral candidates and artists are accepted into the GAFP as fellows for a period of two years.

The GAFP brings together doctoral candidates, artists and professors from different scientific cultures. It thus offers its fellows opportunities for a stimulating, interdisciplinary and cross-career exchange.

The Gutenberg Academy is funded by the Rhineland-Palatinate Research Initiative.

The GA was established in 2025 as JGU’s central contact point for all questions relating to academic careers. It supports and promotes researchers in the early stages of their careers, i.e. from the doctorate over the postdoctoral researcher phase to the preparatory phase for a professorship or equivalent position.
